I am trying to upgrade my friends computer windows xp with a windows xp pro but I get
Error E:\I386\IEXPLORE.EX_ was not copied to
C:\Program Files\Internet explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
because of the following error:
The user chose to skip the file operation.
Please HELP. ( 10 Points and a recomendation for you! )
Thanks!
I think you have a defective CD, try copying the whole CD onto the hard disk, if it does copy try running the installation from there.. If not i.e. the problem. You’ll need to get a new CD

My best recommendation was to not upgrade, but do a clean install instead. In fact unless absolutely necessary, it’s always a better idea to do a clean install.
Otherwise try renaming E:\I386\IEXPLORE.EX_ to I386.EXE before the copy.

This seems that the CD got some prob like it could have some scratches in that.
but its not at all a prob, u can at anytime copy this file from the CD to the location after upgrading the windows. So go ahead with the installation and finally copy the damaged application manually and rename it to exe (instead of EX_)..
If the File still cant be accessed, u better copy that file from another system, it’ll work.. so no probs..
