How do I order a decent computer online to send to my Grandchild. I am in AZ and she is in Boston. I am talking cheap here, but very functional.

dell.com usually has free shipping too. can get a full desktop for about $400 with capability to do all work, just can’t run intense gaming or photo/video editing.

well, if you order within the next hour, you can go to woot.com there is an excellent computer for sale on there, but woot.com only sells one item per day at radically reduced prices and just 5.00 shipping and handling. Also, you can go to ubid.com, there it takes a little longer for the auctions, but the prices can be very good. I have gotten 3 laptops from there for less than 1350 for all. For both websites you can request that the mailing address be different from the billing as long as you contact the customer service department.

I have used ECOST.COM, NEWEGG.COM, and TIGERDIRECT.COM for many years now and I’ve never had a problem. I always use my AMEX card because if there is ever a problem, AMEX will credit your account immediately and then ask questions. I would check out Dell, BestBuy on Sunday and maybe Circuit City. I almost 100% of the time buy from the first three vendors.
